The recording of this sermon is not yet ready for download. In the meantime, please enjoy the study questions, below. Take out your Bible and look up the scripture, Matthew 6:1-4, 16-21. Over the next week we invite you to sit down (by yourself or even better) with your small group, a friend, family member or soul-mate, and (think about) discuss the following questions:
Did you grow up in an “openly religious” home or was religion mostly a private matter, unseen by you until later years?
On a scale of 1 (obligation) - 10 (joy), how would you rate your usual attitude to fasting?
What “religious disciplines” are valued in your circles?
Why do you think fasting and prayer are often put together in the Bible and with Christians through the centuries?
What is the purpose of fasting? In what situations you face might fasting be helpful?
