  1. What do you like the best about the hometown where you grew up?
  2. When have you felt either under or over-estimated because of where you were from or who you were related to?
  3. What was different about Jesus that caused the crowd to ask in v. 22, "Isn't this Joseph's son?"
  4. What is Jesus' five-fold mission according to verses 18-19? How did Jesus fulfill it then? Now?
  5. What was it Jesus said that turned the people's amazement (v. 22) into anger (v. 28)?
  6. When was a time you felt rejected? How did you deal with it? How did​ Jesus deal with it?

  3. Why was it important that Jesus be born in Bethlehem?
  4. What do the star, the Magi, the gifts, the homage, the hostility of Herod, and the prophecy teach about the significance of Jesus?
  5. In your journey toward God, how are you like the Magi? How unlike? Have you had to leave anything to follow Jesus?
  6. What is the "gold, incense and myrrh" in your life? How have you offered this to Jesus?
